We think this is a great idea they could just make an npc in every town that takes you to your house and also we think it would be an awesome idea cuz you can talk to your friends and be in private so random ppl do not have to know wat you are talking about and join in the conversation. You would not even need an npc to take you to your own house in MapleStory(Buy maplestory mesos).

Just make a portal that takes you specifically to your house mini-dungeon style, like Sharky said. Just have a decoration around it like the entrance to some gated community. Next to it you can have an npc that will allow you to enter the name of the person whose house you want to go to, or even add a ‘Random’ option.

Imo users should be able to decide whether their houses can be public or private, so that people can take tours of other peoples’ houses. Or, like Taiki said, you can set it to private when you have your little e-parties and stuff. Perhaps every house can have a “gate” npc in front of the house that will allow you to toggle this preference by “opening” and “closing” it. Deploy this system to major towns: Henesys, Orbis, Leafre, and you got yourself a housing system.

And on top of all that, an additional idea: To avoid clustering/encourage location diversity, the prices of ‘real estate’ in specific areas can be high or low depending on the amount and value of the existing homes. So if you really want your house to be in Henesys, one of the main social centers of the game(cheap maplestory mesos) where everyone will want their luxurious mansion homes, you may have to fork over far more cash than you would in Orbis or Ludibrium. Just like in real life.
